AeroStatus - How it works

The foundation of the AeroStatus service is the exchange of short text messages (SMS) between subscribers. It is supported globally by all mobile networks and is not limited to subscription to a particular network. The cost of sending a message is minimal to the customer and substantially lower than the cost of a voice conversation. In fact, in the majority of cases receiving messages is completely free of charge.

In order to obtain the information about a particular flight, the user of AeroStatus must send a request in the form of an SMS message and containing the flight number to a given telephone number (this number may be provided by the airline or by the company providing the AeroStatus service, and can be advertised by in all available media). After the customer sends the request via mobile phone, AeroStatus will return a message with the requested flight status information. If, at the time of the request the flight is not yet completed, the user will automatically receive real-time updates through SMS messages about every change in flight status, until the flight's arrival.
